‘It is Love that Heals us’

A Course in Miracles encourages us to ‘Teach only Love, for that is what you are’, and dedication to this advocacy is a moment by moment practice undertaken with conscious intention; all thoughts not of Love are raised to the Light of Awareness and released. This is the essence of my practice, and it forms the crux of what I share with others.

My personal journey with A Course in Miracles began 18 years ago. At the time I was seeking relief from the torture of ‘myself’. I had grown up with no idea who I was – other than the shy, anxious, often-unwell, awkward, people-pleasing person I unhappily thought myself to be. My ego was ferocious in keeping me small and afraid, and I was once observed as having ‘the lowest self-esteem ever’ (the flip side to the highest, Lol!). With the passing of my parents in quick succession, I found myself unable to tolerate the agony of ‘little-me’ any longer, and I embarked on a tentative journey of Self (big S) discovery.

The Course came to me in 2002 and despite not understanding a word of it, I knew here was my answer. I felt attracted to it like a moth to a flame. With perseverance (including throwing it in the bin more than once!) I found A Course in Miracles to be the only self-study tool that could help me unravel the muddle of who I thought I was, and replace that with the certain knowledge of who I truly am – whole and complete, inherently worthy, divinely innocent, and part of a tapestry that connects us all. In so doing, who I thought my brothers and sisters to be has shifted too, and this has been immensely helpful in how I relate to all ‘others’.

I have found that with opening up to the Guidance of Spirit truth has unveiled itself gradually, and this is an ongoing process – I am a slow but happy learner! In my blog I write about what I have learnt along the way, over the years, and always with the intent that my sharings will be of assistance to others.

The open-hearted joining with ‘mighty companions’ on the path brings much joy, as we teach and learn from one another. With that in mind, I host a Course in Miracles study group meeting at my home every week. The group’s experience and understanding of the Course has been greatly enriched by our collaborative studies and discussions. We drink tea, eat cake and laugh a lot! New members are always welcome!

From my ‘Healing Room‘ (also at my home) I offer one-on-one sessions blending Reiki healing, deep listening and heart-centred guidance. It is the Love that heals us, and I work with clients on that understanding, moving myself out of the way and inviting in the presence of the Holy Spirit to assist where He knows it is needed.
