All bodies are wonderfully well equipped to heal themselves. However, prolonged, unresolved stress interferes with the natural healing process. Indeed, the body can only repair itself efficiently when it is in a state of relaxation. Stress control is therefore paramount to promote health and well-being. Kinesiology helps you release the stress that is locked in the cells, thus restoring the body’s innate self-repair abilities.

Kinesiology is a form of natural therapy in which Eastern wisdom combines with Western knowledge to bring you balance at all levels. It recognizes the importance not only of the body, but also of the mind, the emotions and the spirit when it comes to health. It relies on muscle testing to communicate with the body and to identify and correct potential imbalances in the body’s structural, chemical, mental and emotional energy systems, as well as the external factors that may be affecting your health and well-being.

Since it forms part of the energetic model, and not of the medical model, kinesiology does not treat named diseases, but rather looks for and corrects the underlying issues that have led to the ailment (like nutritional or environmental stressors in the case of allergies, for instance).

Human kinesiology

Kinesiology helps you decode the messages your body is sending you, in the form of various symptoms (headaches, weight gain, chronic pain, low self-esteem, to name but a few), to attract your attention to possible imbalances at physical, emotional, mental and/or spiritual levels. Kinesiology addresses the underlying issues that have caused the imbalance in the first place, as opposed to merely treating the symptoms. I have a particular interest in kinesiology as a tool to enhance sports and learning performances, but please feel free to contact me in connection with other issues.

Animal kinesiology

Kinesiology can benefit your animal companion, who may also, at some point, feel the effects of stress due to a variety of factors. Kinesiology works in very much the same way in animals as it does in humans, gently restoring the body’s self-healing ability and identifying as well as correcting potential stressors in the animal’s environment, with the owner’s input. Among the issues that kinesiology can help solve are nutritional stress, allergies, negative emotional components, pain, the integration of muscle groups, mental and physical coordination and post-surgery recovery, to name but a few. Animal-specific corrections and information are used during a balance, but human corrections may also be relevant.

Kinesiology is a gentle, safe and non-invasive technique. Animals usually appear very relaxed during a session. In cases where pain is involved, I will be very attentive to not cause your pet any discomfort when performing a correction involving physical contact, like the stimulation of neuro-lymphatic points. The detailed history I take at the beginning of the first session allows me to know which parts of the animal’s body should be touched with care.

Distance kinesiology

If you would like yourself or your animal to benefit from a kinesiology balance, but are unable to travel or to arrange for a home session, distance kinesiology is a powerful alternative.

Because kinesiology works with the energy body, the person or dog’s presence is not compulsory. All that is needed is a human surrogate and a photograph or yourself or your animal, and, in the case on an animal kinesiology session, some of the animal’s hair, if at all possible. Hair can indeed be used as an energetic alternative in the context of a distance kinesiology session.

My interest in alternative and natural forms of therapy was nurtured from an early age, as my immediate family members resorted to this kind of healing as a first port of call. Homeopaths, acupuncturist and naturopaths were usually consulted as a matter for course. As a child, I was also very close to animals and very sensitive to their well-being.

Fast forward many years and I have moved from France to South Africa, where I have taught languages at university and worked as a Language Practitioner for 12 years. I discovered kinesiology in 2014 and was impressed by its health benefits. I also found in this gentle, powerful modality a golden opportunity to work with animals, which I had wanted to do since I was a child. I studied through the Specialized Kinesiology College of South Africa and am now qualified in human, equine and canine kinesiology.

Until now, most of my animal clients have been dogs and horses, but I have also worked on cats and on a parrot, and I am keen to adapt my skills to help other species where possible, including wild animals. From a human perspective, my enjoyment of sports and the outdoors, as well as my teaching and lecturing background, have naturally led me to focus on the enhancement of both sport and learning performances. I will however work with most other issues.

I am registered with the Professional Kinesiology Practitioners Association of South Africa (PKPASA). Membership nº: 2016051.

Katie A., owner of Pan, thoroughbred: “The first session with Fanny was awesome! Pan wanted lots of muscle balancing – we did 14 muscle balances and then individual muscles as well. The overall picture was that he was struggling to fit in with the herd, and was still affected by an injury from 3 years ago when another horse bit him incredibly badly on his rump, causing muscle spasm all over his body as he tried to walk. After the session I gave him 3 days off, and then had our first ride – WOW! He was springy and forward and felt amazing. Great result!”

Denise G.: “Fanny was awesome with my Golden Retriever, Shadow. He had had two strokes and emergency operation to remove a pair of socks from his intestines – all within a month of each other. Fanny was loving and patient with him and he thoroughly enjoyed the session. He was completely relaxed throughout.”

Leandre W., owner of Nina, Border Collie: “Awesome and very interesting session. Nina loved it. Thank you for your kindness that you handled my special girl with and for coming out all the way to us. See you next month for a follow up.”
