Our Philosophy
Wellness is a continual, daily practice. It’s not something you are, it’s something you do. When we say, ‘do’, this implies that your actions affect who you are – be it what you put into your body, your thoughts and attitude towards life. Every choice you make, has a direct impact on you, those around you and your environment.

At Rest and Digest Wellness Haven, our attention is on health and well-being.
We assist people who have an appreciation for the importance of taking care of their bodies.
This is undertaken through the various opportunities that are available.

For example:

      • Do you need a rest; Come and top up your energies with a plant based diet with the emphasis on digestive health. Choose a therapy to deepen your rest and ease.
      • Digestive health; Your digestive health requires some attention? We offer detox retreats, colon hydrotherapy, colon and lymphatic massage, juicing and fermented foods and beverages for rebooting your microbiome system.
      • Friendship Thursdays; Treat yourself to our therapies and enjoy a beverage and snack in the garden.
      • Therapies available are Colon Hydrotherapy, Reflexology, sound and crystal therapy, Reiki, Access Bars, Holistic massage including lymphatic drainage.

At Rest and Digest Wellness Haven, be inspired with our permaculture gardens. From the kitchen garden to the production garden, you will have ideas to get you started on creating your very own sustainable health journey. All you have ever wanted to know about fermented foods and beverages can be experienced in Sprout It’s Kitchen. There are tuition opportunities to learn about taking care of your mind-body-soul.

Matthew and Deborah both share a love for educating people who are interested in living life in health and wellness. They both have had personal experiences of the dynamic effects of changing a lifestyle. They firmly believe that you are what you eat. You can change your mind and body connection, your state of health and your life when you change the food you eat and your attitude towards how you view your body.

Prior to meeting in 2013, both share an interesting past on how health and wellness impacted their lives. Matthew has been guiding people towards making healthier choices since his personal transformation in 2012. This came after losing 28kgs through dietary changes. From his teenage years, Matthew struggled with his weight. In reflection, he achieved his healthiest weight while in national service and when he used to enjoy mountain biking. Back then, his dietary choices were very far removed from the way he views food today. White wine, deep fried foods and toxic snacks have been exchanged for whole foods, homegrown and home produced foods.

Deborah on the other hand had to be conscious of the impact that food had on her body from her early childhood years. Her experience with reactions to processed foods began from baby formulas and set up digestive responses that had her managing health related consequences throughout her life. Through years of practical implementation and studying various life style practices, Deborah has found a life style that affords her health and vitality. This has been a dedicated 30 year journey in understanding the connection between the body and mind. Her spiritual practices began at the age of 14. Deborah has always believed that when we work alongside nature, learning, respecting and being humble enough to be the student, nature can teach us about ourselves, about the world we live in and how to live in harmony. Her journey with spiritual matters has evolved over the years with meditation as the foundation of the internal process. The internal discipline that is learned and developed over years of meditation practice has supported her in working with psychoactive plants. Journeying into realms of unknown origins is a practice that requires deep focus, mindfulness and respect. With the intention set, the doors of creation open and allow one to experience all facets of oneself. Plants are our medicine, our food and create the beauty of planet earth.

Deborah is a gem! So full of life, passion and knowledge. I have seen her grow from strength to strength over the past 7 years and am so proud of her achievements. Deborah has helped numerous people overcome gut problems and is indeed the “go to” girl when it comes to nutrition. – Tarryn Coetzee

Review on Cooking class with Deborah Posser

I really enjoy the fun of this !!! I have never gone for a cooking class before. I learn’t so much. We learnt how to make our own wraps and used fresh ingredients from Deborahs garden. What fun !!! The 3 hours went by so quickly. What an inspiration Deborah is, her knowledge on healthy eating and cooking is astonishing. And wow you should see her own veggie garden is one you can only dream of.

She taught us how important it is to have a connection with food, conscious cooking.
